Do Celebrity ships have umbrellas in the cabins on the Alaska runs?

That's true--any precipitation in Alaska is often a misty, drizzly sort of rain which doesn't always fall straight down. Nevertheless it's a good idea to take along a small, collapsible umbrella--I've never heard of Celebrity or any cruise line providing umbrellas in the cabins.

I don't know about that. The day I was in Juneau and walked from my ship, Volendam, over to the Veendam to visit a friend, I was soaked by the time I got there. Fortunately my friend gave me an umbrell for my return trip "home" and I used it a couple of times after that. I wish I knew how to post a picture of it - it was HUGE. I'd never take it on a cruise but I always do take a small fold up one with me.

While not provided in the cabins, when we did Seabourn to Alaska a couple of years ago - there was an umbrella for basically every passenger while disembarking...
I agree - the rain in Alaska is very much like what we get in Vancouver - it rarely "downpours" but is more of a heavy mist...and having lived across all of Canada I can tell you that rain on the West Coast is much more pleasnat than it is in Central/ East Coast.
To get back to the question...I found a nylon shell and sufficient layers underneath worked well...after all we're not made of sugar we shan't melt...and you can always change when you get back to the ship.
Celebrity does indeed have umbrellas in the cabins. We had fantastic weather; sunny and about 75^f every day, about 60^ in the early morning and evening. The rain gear we brought was unused.
