I'm trying to get some info on what airline Princess uses for their cruises to Australia/NZ. I assume most flights from your home city go to LAX and then on to Sydney(in our case) and Auckland(return flight). This is for a Sapphire Princess cruise in Jan. 2008.
As this is an ongoing yearly itinerary hopefully someone can help.
Thanks,
Frosty4

Air Canada will be instituting non-stop flights from Vancouver, BC to Sydney in December 2007. I'm not sure of the status of flights from Auckland to Vancouver.
Their first 777-200LR will be delivered by Boeing to Montreal this Saturday.

Hi Frosty

I cannot give you a definitive answer on this but I should expect that you will probably fly either Qantas or Air New Zealand.

Most flights are out of LAX, however, Qantas also flies out of SF several times a week. As you are leaving from Auckland on the return flight it would probably be Air New Zealand.

Thanks, but it looks like a wait and see. We are going to Sydney a few days early(Weather delays insurance)as it can be nasty in Chicago in Jan.
A few days post cruise from Auckland, I really don't care then about delays coming home.

For a cruise that starts in Australia and ends in New Zealand, they'll probably book you on Star Alliance members through United via LAX or SFO. It doesn't mean all your flights will be on United, but all flights will probably have United Airlines flight numbers indicated on the tickets. BTW, Air New Zealand is part of the Star Alliance, but Qantas is not.
