to HAL's Civitavecchia departure port.

How feasible is it to arrive (at airport) approx, 13.00 hrs, transfer and board COMFORTABLY for a 20.00 hr. sail time?

I'd sure hate to miss the 'boat'!!!

HAL transfer or private arrangements recommended??????

All suggestions welcome.........

Civitavecchia is only 50kms from Fiumicino (FCO), so unless you do something foolish at the airport you should have plenty of time to spare. Try the following limo and shuttle services:

Orange Transport Shuttle Service

Rome Limousine Car Service and Autoline Roma

Romanalimo

Limousine Service

Autonoleggio G.T.L.

AirPortShuttle

Aurelia Transfer Arport Connection from Fiumicino, Ciampino and Civitavecchia - 1/3 Persons € 38.00 - Ciampino € 43.00 - Civitavecchia € 135.00 Tel. 06-61564721 Mobil 347-7198115 Fax 06-61567079 - extra night service 10 euros (22:00-07:00) E-mail: info@aureliatransfer.it

Appreciate the info. I'm checking it out!

Curious though - what would constitute "doing something foolish at the airport "?

Incidents of all kinds can lose you time, but I was alluding mostly with anything to do with the local authorities. I'm not saying you'll get yourself into trouble, but in Italy there have been times when even a stare at police could get you into a situation. From experience the guys at Fiumicino are pretty laid back, unless of course you fly in from countries on their black list. Also, in your case, they'll scrutinise you more when you depart, since you are headed for NA.

I hope that list of links is useful. I know there are a few others, but only a week or so ago I lost all my Firefox bookmarks on my PC (that's the computer I'm using as I'm writing). I'll have to check my Mac in my office, but I don't know if I'll find the time as I am also flying to Rome this weekend, so I have plenty to prepare. BTW, I am not going on a cruise...

Back from being in Rome for three weeks. Noted stacks of limo drivers waiting for pick-ups at Arrivals exit. In Rome a young lady gave me a Taxy Go flyer. They were advertising a single person Fiumicino-Rome (Rome-Fiumicino) transfer for € 28. I think you shouldn't have too many problems finding a limo or minivan if you forget to book in advance, but best to do that just in case, you'll never know.
