Just curious about the weather in Venice and Florence in Mid March. Saw some great tour prices and wondering if it is a good time to take a second trip to Venice at a lesser price than this past August.

In Venice it won`t be as hot as in August (actually an advantage) - more precise predictions are difficult as this is just the transition between winter and spring - it acutally can be still cold in March (as said not necessarily a disadvantage) - expect some precipitation and don`t blame me if you have perfect weather.

Unless you enjoy the sweat running down your back and crowds, I would expect March to be more comfortable than August. It should be mild, even warm, but not hot.

In either Venice or Florence don't expect the weather in March to be warm and perfect. You may get plenty of spring rains, but one thing is for sure, as Ernst and Malcolm pointed out, it will be much more comfortable than in summer, with all the heat and crowds. You will also get better prices for accommodation, but make sure Easter does not fall in March (which it won't in 2006).
