Anyone have any experience to share with the port of Labadee? RC calls it Hispanola, which I thought was an old term for the whole island. I guess they don't say its in Hati for the image that brings. What should I expect here?

It is quite simply the most beautiful place in the Caribbean - stop being so hung up about Hispaniola - it is like a world apart and when you wake up you will feel like every Robinson Crusoe dream has come true.

Labadie (correct spelling - RCCL americanized it) is located in Northern Haiti.

It is a shame that RCCL offers no shore excursions, as nearby is the famed San Souci Palace ruins and amazing La Citadelle. The nearby town of Cap-Haitien once was one of the most beautiful in the Caribbean, but strife and hurricanes have tarnished its charm.

By all means, you will undoubtebly love "Labadee". Many travelers call it one of the Caribbean's most beautiful places.

We LOVED Labadee when we stopped there in 2003. It was one of the most relaxing and beautiful stops. We did the jet skis there- give them a try you will get to see a lot of the coast via jet ski! The hammocks under the palm trees are zawsome. There are several beaches and each is very different, my husband liked to bargain at the market. We bought a wonderful Haitian oil painting.

It's great. . better than Princess Cays in the Bahamas which is also nice, but Labadee is a paridise. You'll love it.

If you want a beautiful beach day this is the place for you. It has many beaches and you can get away from everybody or stay with the crowd. It is a great day. You can rent and use all types of water sports equipment. The setting is absoloutely beautiful, with high hills surrounding the bay.Enjoy.
