Don't think you can do it from a USA port!

I get it now, you can go to Cuba, as lond as it doesnt leave from a US port, is that right?
Thanks,Tyler
There must be ways to go there, because lots of Americans are traveling to Cuba.
It would be interesting to meet the people, and observe the daily living conditions that have resulted from the USA embargo.
I think there is a problem spending the US$ in Cuba because of the embargo.
Check out the State Dept travel restrictions.
Those in Havana seem to be well dressed, fed and relatively happy. They are also very polite, unlike natives of other islands.
Seems all kids attend school and are forced to wear school uniform. (This could be called some form of torture)
US dollars seem to be the only currency accepted.
I have a favorable impression of the country from what I seen. This appears totally opposite to the propaganda put out by the US government. I will appreciate other input on this.

Most US citizens I've talked to think the embargo by the US is stupid. China has a worse human rights record than Cuba.
From what I understand, most cruise lines will not transport Americans to Cuba. Festival will not board any Americans for Cuba.
Topgun - could you post a link to the great pictures you took while there? Others may enjoy.
For anyone interested, the pictures are in the photogallery under the heading

I don't know what the passport situation for Americans is. I would have thought that if you fly to and from Barbados to join the ship, and the ship keeps your passport during the trip, how would the US Government ever know you've been to Cuba?
Or is that me being naive..?
Canadian customs are not concerned howevever a Cuban Visa is required. This is quite easy to get, They love the US Dollar.
Treat them right and with respect and they will return the compliment.
Prices are usually heavily discounted from brochure at times close to sailing dates.I think the Canadian marketing arm is used to top off the ship.
Lebelty, you seem to ask lots of questions without acknowledging replies or responding. Are you making a travel bruchure?
