The only other major line I know of that has done this is Princess, and their itineraries frankly do not thrill me this time around.
I wonder - for those who have been there already - which itinerary do you prefer and why? I'm specifically looking at:
PRINSENDAM Baltic Summer (Jun. 28, Aug. 3)PRINSENDAM Emerging Eastern Worlds (Jul. 12, Aug. 9)WESTERDAM Imperial Treasures (Jun. 24)WESTERDAM Vikings & Czars (Jul. 6)WESTERDAM Russian Rendezvous (Jul. 18)
Some of the above choices are quite similar, with only one or two ports different, but neverthless, I wonder what the pros and cons of each are? Usually there isn't such a big variety, but this year it seems as though most itineraries are only being repeated (in exact form) once or twice.
And remember, we're talking about ports here, not ships ...

At that time of year it will be light till very late - especially at St. Petersburg.
You get the chance to stay over at Copenhagen and/or London if you wish.
Apart from Oslo I have been to all these places last year on the Noordam and there is something differengt about them all. I would not recommend the Moscow tour as there is more than enough to see in St. Petersburg. Likewise if you don't fancy Berlin Warnemunde is a nice little place and is only 1/2 hour from Rostock on the train (station 2 mins from boat, trains every 15 mins).
Also unlike the Noordam trip there will be sea days to recover (my only gripe about that cruise).
You can see my review at this link if you are interested http://www.cruiseserver.net/travelpage/yourfav/yfc_hal_noordam_9.asp I don't know who Vince Sol is - this is a mistake by Joe/Malcolm.
Happy sailing.
