Has anyone been to Stone Island or taken a Stone Island tour. I see that there's horse back riding there. Has anyone seen or ridden the horses? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

I took a boat tour to and back from Stone Island from the port.

Yes I did get your reply, thanks. We're all set for PV and I was just trying to get a handle on what to do in Mazetlan. We leave for our cruise on Saturday and frankly as long as it's warmer than -3 degrees F I'll be happy where ever I go.

Forgot to ask. How was Stone Island? What did you do there? I know you can take a ferry over. Did you do your own thing there, a ship tour or book a tour on your own. Any details you have would be great.

Joan, since our tour was a boat/beach party trip, we only circled Stone Island. The island looked unique. You can see the anchored ships there. What a sight

We visited Mazatlan for the first time last spring and, on a whim, took the walking tour of the old city offered by HAL. It turned out to be very worthwhile: we met a few local people and got a close look at some interesting restoration work being done to the older buildings. It was an interesting and inexpensive [$25] alternative to the usual shore excursions, and left a good lasting impression of the city.
