A few years ago when we docked here, we just walked off the ship and there were some shops right at the dock - it was extremely hot. Never did a tour, but I will be there on Nov. 26th, so will let you know - may do a tour to the Salt Bridge or go shopping.

Green has been there a number of times, and she probably could be more helpful.

You know you're back in civilisation when you get off the ship at Aruba and one of the first shops you see is ... Dunkin' Donuts!

My advice, for what it's worth, is spend the morning shopping in town -- then get a taxi to the Radisson Hotel (about two miles) and go on their beach.

Can't recall Dunkin' Donuts!

You can get off the ship and stroll but it's interesting to see the Natural Bridge on an Island tour - one side of the Island is so very different from the other.

Radisson Hotel suggestion is good - depends on what you're looking for!

The shopping in Aruba is pretty much the same as the other islands. They do have an interesting handicraft that I haven't seen anywhere else - Mopa mopa. These pieces look like they have been painted, but actually it is a colored resin that is used.

I would recommend taking an excursion to either the Butterfly Farm or the Natural Bridge. My husband and I went to aAruba for vacationthis past July and we walked to the Radisson. The beach there was the nicest that we had seen on the island. The hotel itself is also very nice!

You can consider the dock as being right in town. Prices are not that cheap compared to others in Carib. 1st time we went we hired a taxi on dock for a quick tour of what few sights there are i/c the natural bridge then dropped us at a deserted beach & came to fetch us at appointed time giving us a tour of the hotel strip on way back.Landscape in relatively flat, dry & scrub covered. If you are into snorkelling the tour to De Palm Island is very good lots of fish in many varieties, one of the better Islands in carib IMHO

I usually take a taxi, or public transport which is directly across the street from the dock, north to the Holiday Inn. It is then a wonderful walk back toward town along one of the nicest beaches in the Caribbean. Whenever you get tired, just relax at one of the many hotels, take a dip in the pools, swim in the sea or have a bit to eat or a cool drink. If time runs out, or you get too tired, all the hotels have taxi ranks outside and it therefore very easy to get back to the dock. This is my farourite island in the Caribbean, so clean, safe and inviting. Have fun.
