I was wondering what the Eastern Mediteranean Cruise on the Costa Classica is like? It seems we will be spending about 5 hours on Santorini and five on Mykinos. We will be going to Rhodes and Dubrovnik. I am just curious if anyone who has done this cruise has any words of wisdom as to about what to do on the islands? Any comments from you would be appreciated! Thanks, newtocruise

Patmos:
Very nice village (where the ships docks), good to walk around.
Rhodes:
Interesting walk in the Medieval City Old Town (walking distance from the ship) with the Palace of Knights, Hospital & houses of the Knights of St. John and many boutiques.
Mykonos:
Take a bus from the pier to the village and spend your time walking in this amazing place.
Heraklion:
A port city with nothing to see.
Santorini
Beautiful place, I suggest taking a taxi to Oia and come back to know Fira.
Dubrovnik
Take a taxi and go to the Old City ($10 each way). Ask the driver to show you the signs of the war.

Dear Nebrazil, Thankyou for your great response. You have been most helpful. Did you mind the Costa Classica (if that's the ship you went on)? It seems some people have not been very happy with their cruise on this ship. I have never cruised before and feel that it is probably going to be fine although I guess there may be an issue of the rooms not being very soundproof. Did you find that to be true? I am looking forward to meeting lots of interesting people. My sister is worried that the food will be horrible since one person has written they did not like it. My travel agent does not know about this ship so I was hoping the Classica is the ship you were on. Do the windows in the rooms open? I appreciate your answers very much. Costa Classica is a beautiful ship, very well maintained and with a very good size.
I think she is ideal for first cruisers.I am sure you will liked.
All the modern ships have air-contioning, thats why none of the windows can be open.
Weak points:the cabins are not soundproof, the food is so so and the restaurant is very noisy (sometimes you can´t hear your tablemates).
Feel free to ask me everything about the ship or the ports of call (including Italy).
