For someone who has done the cruise "Best of mediterranean" on "The Legend of the seas". Could you please provide some information for the different tours at each stop. Villefranche, Livorno, Naples, Venice, Dubrovnik, Messina, Civitavecchia, Marseilles. Is it preferable to take organize tours or do it on your own? What would be the cost of these tours (canadian $). What tours are highly recommended?
Thank you!

I haven't ever cruised on the Legend of the Seas but because I'm Italian I know well each port of call.LIVORNO:I suggest you to take an excursion to Florence or to Pisa. Both cities are wonderful but personally I prefer Pisa. The Piazza dei Miracoli is unforgettable with the medieval Chatedral, the Baptistery.the famous Tower and the intersting monumental Camposanto.NAPLES:You can explore yourself a city taking a taxi(be very carefully to the many pickpockets and avoid places like the Bassi and the Quartieri Spagnoli). There are many interesting things to see:the Archeological museum and the Capodimonte Gallery, the church of S.Chiara with a beautiful ceramic chiostro and, nearby to the port the Castelnuovo(a medieval aragonese fortress) and the Royal Palace.Try also the excellent Sfogliatelle,a typical sweet speciality of Naples. If you would take a tour go to the wonderful ruins of Pompei or relax in the mundain and peacefull Capri.VENICE:Absolutely don't take a tour but explore yourself this wonderful city taking a vaporetto(the typical public bus on the sea). Some suggestions:the Gallery of the Accademia and the churches of S.Maria Gloriosa dei Frari and SS:Giovanni e Paolo. If you love the venetian painting of the Renaissance don't miss the Scuola of S.Rocco and the Ducal Palace. If you have already visited Venice go to the islands of Murano,Burano and Torcello where there are medieval churches with mosaics and many interesting things to but like thee famed Murano glasses.MESSINA:Reserve an excursion to Taormina with its anciet greek theater that offer a wonderful panoramic view on the Etna.Try the typical Cassata Siciliana and the Granita.delicious sweets.CIVITAVECCHIA:Only few words,it's the port of access to Rome.DUBROVNIK:explore yourself the wonderful medieval city with its rich venetian heritage.MARSIGLIA:Take a tour to Avignone to see the wonderful Palace of the Popes.VILLEFRANCHE:Go to the moundain Nice and live the french charme of the Riviera.Have an excellent cruise.
