We have been to each of these ports. all of these islands are beautiful. St.Lucia has questionable safety but we did a local bus back from bay where dr.doolittle filmed. Nice place to see for curiosity sake but only worth spending 1/2 hr. there as no beach, cafe etc. St.Kitts is very rustic. Cab from port will let you see countryside nicely. Lots of livestock wandering around even in town square and park. Was fun to see. Barbados has lots to see and good water activities. We did a catamaran trip with snorkeling on a sunken boat just off shore. One of nicest shore excrusions we have had. Grenada was beautiful. The spice island. Did tour with local taxi and was great. He stopped at all the local attractions and was very friendly and informative.

I didn't care much for Grenada. Out of all the islands we've been on, we were harassed the most on this pier. We took a short walk into the little town right off the pier, which was very dirty and the natives constantly harrassed us to sell us things. Then we took a water taxi to Grand Anse Beach (sp?). While on the beach, we were constantly harrassed to buy things: t-shirts, spices, jewelry, etc... At one point I was half asleep laying on the beach and this native stood over me singing, which woke me up, of course. To be polite, I smiled at him, then he handed me a hat and told me to tip him. We didn't have any extra cash on us and only had enough for a water taxi back to the pier, so I told him that, and he started yelling at us! The beach was kind of dirty, there aren't any water sports and there is no marine life off the beach for snorkeling.

If you just want a day to relax and aren't looking for a spectacular beach, Grand Anse might be ok for you. The water taxi was cheap, and there are a ton of them running back and forth all day, so you won't have any trouble getting there and back.

I think we probably should have taken an organized island tour so we could've seen more of the island. I've heard good things about Grenada and am disappointed that we didn't see any of the "nice" parts.

While in St Lucia this year we did the Volcano tour It was awesome. Just standing beside the steaming craters was really neat, our tour guide was very good he really knew his stuff. there was a part in the tour where we went into a forest and talked about the fruits and vegetables that grow there and how the locals use them for medicinal purposes. In Barbados my daughter and I went to the Malibu beach/ distillery, we thought we had a great time until we heard about my husband and son's tour!! they went on the 4x4 tour. I think they saw the whole island and the pictures they took were unbelievable. of course these trips are not cheap and we did not feel comfortable booking them off the ship. The beach in Barbados was like any picture you have ever seen. The colours were wonderful and the temperture of the water was perfect. I think you will love these islands, I know we did. Enjoy your cruise, which ship are you going on?
