My husband and I are going on an Inside Passage cruise in a couple of weeks. Does anyone have any suggestions on what we should do in Ketchikan, Juneau and Skagway? We are cruising with Holland America.

The Mendenhahl Glacier Landing in Juneau is very expensive, but we'd do it again in a heartbeat. We normally don't do excursions, but this was an opportunity we couldn't miss. It was well worth it. We also did the White Pass Railway in Skagway and the Whale Watch in Juneau. They were fine, but the Glacier Landing was the best. If you want more info, email me at schube@fais.net. No matter what you do, you'll LOVE Alaska. We're going back next year.

There is a wonderful choice of excursions on offer - but they are all rather expensive in my opinion.

My fav is Skagways 'White Pass Mountain railway' - don't miss it!

We are cruising to Alaska at the end of August this year. We had already determined to budget to take plenty of tours as we were advised that this would really be a trip of a life time. We just received our excursion booklet from Princess and have applied for several tours including the Skagway White Pass railway as everyone raves about it. We have also gone for a Glacier landing in Juneau and a Mendenhall float glacier trip with gentle rafting. I think when we get to Sitka we will probably just Sit!

Bubbles: Please don't just SIT in Sitka (unless you were punning). It is an absolutely wonderful town to walk, even to the museum a bit out of town. The Russian cathedral is beautiful and there is usually a free folkloric show neaar the dock. Sitka is my very favorite port in Alaska and we've never taken a tour there--it's so easy to do on your own.

Thanks for your concern, yes it was just a joke but we will certainly slow down and 'do' Sitka ourselves at a more leisurely pace than earlier in the week - otherwise we will need another hol when we get home!
