We are taking our first cruise in April and want to go snorkeling. We will be visiting St. Martin, St. Thomas, and St. Croix. Which one has the best snorkeling?

Haven't snorkelled in St. Croix, but between the other two, St. Thomas, in particular, St. Johns is much better

I have snorkled in both St. Croix and St. Johns, but not St. Thomas. St. Johns is much better.

We always go to St. Johns however coki beach in St. Thomas is quite nice. It has been several years but off of St.Croix we went to Buck island. Also St. Johns is very easy to go on your own they rent equipment right there. If you want to know where to go let me know there are two ways to get to St. John I would go both of them

St. Johns is the best for snorkeling but the longest trip from St. Thomas. To some extent it depends on how good a snorkeler you are.

If an occassional snorkeler Coki Beach on St Thomas is good and even Saphire Beach next door is not bad.

The primary appeal of Trunk Bay on St. Johns is the trail - its fun to do but not the best snorkeling on the Island. Hawks Nest has good shallow snorkeling and is a gorgeous beach.

I second that motion on Trunk Bay snorkling.
Trunk Bay is nice, but the Life Guards blow their whistles every minute or so. The beach is crowded. Besides, I don't need signs under the water telling me what and where to go next. How ridiculous. The best snorkling I've ever been was at RCL's private island, Cocao Cay.
It is unbelievable.

WE just returned from St. Thomas and we have stayed at St John,s. The best snorkling in the area was at a place called the Indians off of Tortolla. There is a day trip from St. Thomas via Captain Nautica. There is also a half day snorkling trip to Buck Island via the Fury that is excellent. Trunk bay at St. Johns was also good.
