This cruise would be 180^ opposite of my 2 previous cruises on Cunard and Oceania.

Me thinks total culture shock and I certainly be out of place

Mobile Alabama to Cozumel 5 days

Ballroom dancing replaced with square dancing.

24 hour TV marathons of Hee Haw and the Beverly Hillbillies

On board lecture on the history of Colt, Smith and Wesson.

Tobacco chewing lounge

Jack Daniels specials

Grand lounge to be Evangelical megachurch

Gift shop stocked with Bola ties and big belt buckles

Special menu of with possum innards, chitlins, and racoon livers

Formal night dress is a 10 gallon cowboy hat instead of Braves baseball cap. collared plaid shirt, bola tie with the overalls

Cruise director gets confused when the passengers call the family reunion the singles dance

I am being tongue in cheek

On my Rembrandt cruise my table had a couple from North Carolina who were retired college professors, and a mother/daughter from Alabama who were a hoot Mom was retired legal secretary, daughter a pharmacologist.

In reality their manners, hospitality and ettiquette rivaled an European noble family.

PS: on formal night I forgot the seersucker suit

desirod, your a riot. I wish you were going we'd have a great laugh. I'm a little used to dealing with the grits crowd as we went on the Norweigan Majesty twice out of Charleston and had a great time. Chose this one because we couldn't resist the last minute price LOL. The cruise price is less then the port charges.

What's wrong with seersucker?

I wore my seersucker suit on Cunard once, during January. Of course it was not a formal night. It was however the evening that we crossed the Equator from Winter into Summer on our way to Sydney.

I've also worn the suit a few nights over the years on the DELTA QUEEN boats, but only during late May, June, July, and August.
