Here is a documentary i found on the building of qe2. Some amazing footage of inside and out of the ship during its building before launch.. Its dated 1st dec 1966, but must have been after as it ends with the launch which was sept 1967 if im not mistaken?!!
There's some great clydebank banter in the voice over. Very typical of the time, with some very typical, time specific "social values" being highlighted.. lol
Hope you all enjoy.

But its very typical of the time and of scottish television of the 60's. It was still very much a new channel and documentary in its infancy. Its just a little slice of then, and can't even be compared to documentaries that are produced nowadays..
I do agree with it being annoying, some very old fashioned bigoted views in there. I ended up finding it funny in the end, But then i'm from just south of glasgow and it totally reminds me of the banter of my grandparents generation.. Their still at it haha
My best friends dad worked on the building of qe2 as well, luckily I have his builders pass framed from when she was still being fitted out and having extra trials down in the english channel, he also stole a tea cup and saucer.. precious things.. lol
