Very nice, thank you Ben, though I think there is some artistic exaggeration in the drawing of the dining room!

My Grandmother sailed to Rotterdam on the Westerdam from NYC....or rather the HAL piers in NJ. I was very small, but it seemed very plush to me....much along the lines of Nieuw Amsterdam as to furniture. Thanks, Ben, for sharing these pictures.

Lovely images of two extremely attractive combo liners. The cozy interiors remind me of a mini-Nieuw Amsterdam. I always like the position of the light-filled dining room-forward w/portholes on 3-sides.

There interiors where designed by the same people responsible fore the interiors a/b the NIEUW AMSTERDAM. Sadly only two of the 4 combi liners survived WW2, the ZAANDAM the second of the series was lost at sea after a torpedo hit here, she sunk with a great loss of life. 86 days later 3 of here crew/passengers where found on a raft. The ZUIDERDAM the 4th of the sisters was sunk several times she was still under construction. Both Germans as the Dutch resistance sunk here, like here sister WESTERDAM. But WESTERDAM was repairable she was to damaged that she was declared total loss and scrapped in Belgium.

Ben....the chairs in the dining room, cabin, and lounge all look nearly identical to those a/b Nieuw Amsterdam. The "block" carpeting in the dining room is similar to Nieuw Amsterdam's too, but the colors are different. Great pictures, Ben.
