Timeless. I'm always amazed at how well she has aged!

Although she was never a favorite of mine during her years with Home Lines Cruises, she looks good and well looked after. Never liked her interiors, as built, nor her exterior, but her popularity was immense. I remember her as a very heavy pitcher at speed in a moderate sea or heavy sea. Her motion for me was most unsettling.

I wonder how many miles she has logged now as Peaceboat compared to her career as a passenger/cruise ship?

ss ' The Oceanic ' is now making about four round trips a year from Japan.

However she appears to no longer be calling at any ports in the USA or Canada.

Having passed through the Panama Canal and anchored in the Gulf of Panama last night she has now returned to berth in Balbao for an overnight stay before going on to Guatemala for an overnight stay.

She is then scheduled to call at Manzanillo and Ensenada before making a 14 day crossing of the Pacific Ocean to return to Yokohama.

These regular crossings of the Pacific Ocean, from Mexico to Japan, must be some of the longest voyages ss ' The Oceanic ' has ever spent continuously at sea.

I love this classic ship, and she 's coming to Amsterdam in September, I 'm planning to be there because this is about the only chance I 'll have to see her.
