Usually we just see aerial views, which fail to show the extent of the damage.
As much as I like Europa over Liberte', I certainly give a nod to the French for saving her.

No she was not in Gentlemen Prefesr Blonds, the ship used was a fantasy French Line liner I believe name Ile d' Paris. The ship was based on the Titanic model used in the 1953 movie Titanic with Barbara Stanwyck. They even used part of the interiors and mixed them with new modern interior sets. There was a pré war New York arrival shot in color displaying the Conta di Savoya.
There was a shot of here sailing in New york harbor in the opening of another Marilyn Monroe movie How To Marry a Millionaire.

It was the 'French Line' which was a pretty bad film w/the wonderful late great Jane Russell.
