It is understood that the mv Athena has experienced an engine problem on her voyage from Fremantle, Australia to the UK.

She is now expected to pass through the Suez Canal today and appears to be missing some ports enroute to Portsmouth, UK, where she is still due to arrive on the 14th April 2011at 09.00 hrs.

mv Athena sailed from Port Said about 07.30 hrs this morning and is now off of Alexandria having cruised there at about 15.5 knots

She appears to be heading into port so some of her passengers may have gone on an overland trip from Port Said to Cairo and are rejoining her in Alexandria tonight.
