is it good?
I have seen it on the internet, but I’m a little apprehensive to buy it before having seen it. I’ve been disappointed several times from internet buys . Is it a good book? Does it have good pictures? The story is less Important to me, I’m more interested in the photo’s as reference material for building a model. Does it feature many “new” pictures or stuff that’s from other books and from the internet? I’m more interested in detailed exterior and deck shots.
Best Onno
However, one disappointment to me in this book is that there are few on-board views, or deck scenes. Most of the views are long-distance exteriors (lots of aerial views.) It would not be very helpful to you on your project.
But from the photos you've posted elsewhere, it looks like your NIEUW AMSTERDAM model is nearly finished, and it's gorgeous! Congratulations on a job well-done!

I agree with Linerrich. The book is ok, but if I had actually seen it before buying it, I probably wouldn't have. As mentioned, there are some great aerial shots, and a few that I really liked of the funnels but that is about it.
I received this book during the Christmas holidays....and it cannot compare to the spectacular Bremen/Europa, France/Norway, Michelangelo/Raffaello (great drawings by the way) books that I also read over the holidays.
It is a shame that nobody has yet written an all encompassing Nieuw Amsterdam book yet. I am not sure if you are familiar with the Paolo Valenti books, but he has written excellent single ship books - and I think it can be done with the NA as well.
Cheers, and again my compliments on your contribution to the Michelangelo/Raffaello book.
