A friend of us who is in the US for work went to Philadelphia last Sunday. When he saw a familiar silhouette he went to take some pictures.

Great angle, capturing the bow's camber and shear. I've always wondered how that bow looked making its way through rough head seas at speed.

It always amazed me how the paint has held up for over 40-years without any maintenance. She is always an impressive sight even after years of decay.

there is a book called Oceanliners with a B&W picture of ssUS at speed on the front cover.Can someone scan it or post the internet advert please???
I'd love to se the color version of it and hear it on video...
Last time I heard a bow crush the Atlantic at 35 knots was on QE2!
