I was going through my postcards to put up on sale on Ebay. It's a very nice card and I had forgotten that I had it. I know she was the former KUNGSHOLM, now sailing as the MONA LISA. Here is the card:

Somehow the picture looks a little off, too short and too tall, perhaps the result of scanning!!
She was a great ship. I loved all her interior woodwork in the original portions of the ship, the indoor pool and her outdoor areas. The additions seemed to a ruined her bit, and the additional cabins, known as the flats, were very small. The only drawback was a very noisy and sooty diesel generator set that could be heard on deck when docked or at anchor.
I sailed an 11 then 10 day cruise as Sea Princess, and another 14 day voyage as Victoria. One of my favourites. Thanks for posting the picture.

Thank you Grant and yes, I scanned it with a Canon MP250 last night. I would loved to have sailed her.

I did sail on her...three times. Twice as SAL's Kungsholm and once as Flagship Cruises' Kungsholm. She was very comfortable, had large cabins with extra long beds, and had a wonderful crew. Things were not nearly so good when she went to Flagship. I was on the very last cruise in late August 1978, and P&O had already bought her. She was the most spacious ship I ever sailed!

She is a lovely ship, spent 3 years on her and is probably my favourite of all I worked on.

Do we assume that given the total lack of news and that she has only 9 months to go before retirement that the Swedish proposal to save her is dead in the water ?

She was the most handsome passenger liner build in the 1960's. Here sleek lines and 2 stunning funnels give here that yacht like feel.
I never understand why P&O ruined here profile by removing here forward funnel and redone aft funnel.

The beauty in happy SAL times (Simplon postcards)

Greetings Ben.

Kungsholm certainly was/is a very, very, very nice ship. However, I can think about some other very nice ships built in that decade so I am not sure about whether she is the most handsome.

Kungsholm is of course considered to be close to perfection. However, thinking about the 60ies the following names also come to my mind: Eugenio C., Sagafjord, France or also Leonardo da Vinci - maybe not all as perfect as Kungsholm but certainly very handsome ships - in the one or the other way maybe even more handsome than the perfect Kungsholm.

Sea Princess was added new cabins on the Verandah Deck though Song of Norway did insert mid-section for increasing passenger capacity around the same time in 1978.

She was also added New Carousel Lounge and Carousel pool just aft of the funnel on the Promenade deck.

Ernst....you are correct....I had forgotten Leonardo da Vinci....surely as beautiful as Kungsholm. Also Sagafjord, perhaps, but I always liked Vistafjord, as built, better and she's from the 70's. I was always a fan of France, but she did have some flaws in her superstructure. Her hull was perfection. I was never a fan of the Italian bows found on Eugenio C and Oceanic, but that's a personal thing.
