I see that all the ships heading to Vancouver are not appearing on the books, all except Marco Polo. Has her charter been cancelled or is she on the way? Anyone know?

As you might know, Cruise & Maritime Voyages is now in charge of Marco Polo and has set up a complete new program.

Marco Polo was originally scheduled to berth today to prepare for her 1st cruise from Tilbury for CMV, but is currently still sitting in the Thames Estuary; now scheduled for 09:30 tomorrow, 01/01/10

Thanks for the info. Talk on the waterfront had Marco Polo replacing Mona Lisa, but we have seen no indications either way until these replies. Perhaps Mona Lisa will make it out as originally planned, but that too is cloaked in mystery. The NCL, HAL, and CCL vessels are all definate now, although the NCL is now going to house many workers as well as paying guests. Give me a heads up if you spot wither vessel over on this side of the Atlantic!! Thanks and Happy New Year to you all.

Hi Grant

Mona Lisa passed throught the Straits of Gibraltar enroute to Vancouver on the 26th December 2009.

She was due to have had a stop there but the weather was too bad to enter the port.

She is due to be at Squamish, Vancouver, from the 26th January 2010 until the 23rd March 2010.

According to the AIS ship position maps, she is now due at Cristobal on the 8th January 2010.

Mona Lisa is on her way and a license was applied for on 15th Dec:-

Usage: Passenger-cruise
Nationality: Bahamas
Proposed Activity or Service: The vessel will be used to provide accommodation for the Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games bus drivers in Squamish, British Columbia.
Period: Commencing on January 26, 2010 and ending on March 23, 2010.
Deadline: Persons responding to this notice are required to do so by 5:00 p.m. (Eastern Time), on December 28, 2009."

According to the port information Maroc Polo is due to arrive at Tilbury Landing Stage at 18.00 hrs. today, 1st January 2010.

I think the times are for the pilot. It will take 2 or 3 hours from where she is to Tilbury I imagine.

She is just berthing; took her time

Don't know what stores they will have already loaded and what may need to be done tomorrow before the off, but nice to see she is sold-out. Quite a long voyage for starters.

Maybe just fresh fruit and vegetables to pick up tomorrow before she sails.

She could have taken on other frozen food stores at Cuxhaven before she arrived at Tilbury.

HERE is a German article and there is shorty said that the crew bunkered on Monday before the she was prepared to leave...

So seems that time in CUX was used to save time in TIL

The port information for Tilbury is showing the Marco Polo as sailing at 16.50 hrs this evening for Amsterdam.

It looks as if she got away 10 minutes early !
