What about the Cabo San Roque/Cabo San Vincente, does anyone have deck plans of these 2 ships of the Spanis Ybarra Lines??
I really thank everyone that responds to my posts here! Since 7/07 I have been vision impaired due to a disease called Vasculitis. Since 1979 I have been studying ocean liners and cruise ships. TCS
All of my deck plans for both ships are too large to scan, but here's a nice view of the SAN ROQUE:
I just recently rewatched the Spanish film "Crucero de Verano" (1964) which was filmed on board CABO SAN ROQUE. It occasionally plays on Telemundo or Univision, and has excellent on-board footage, since the filming took place all over the ship.

The CABO SAN ROQUE and CABO SAN VINCENTE remind me of the Moore-McCormick Lines ARGENTINA and BRAZIL of 1958. Thanks for the I like thes eold ships! Why did'nt the Ybarra Lines pair last longer?

Actually they both lasted until the 1980s before being scrapped, longer than the expected lifespan of liners built in the 1950s. They just had been sold to other countries for other uses. Ybarra Lines was building more modern, fuel-efficient ships by the 1970s when they were sold.
Also, the Energy Crisis of the early '70s had a lot to do with their disposal. You're probably too young to remember that, but it coincided with the advent of long-haul jumbo jets. Suddenly there was no place for passenger liners, and literally dozens of steamship lines either went out of business, or ended their passenger services, or simply got rid of old tonnage.
People are screaming these days because a classic ship goes to the breakers every few months--I remember when several liners every month were being scrapped!
Yes, I remember the gas crisi in the early 1970s ! My Dad sold his our Chevrolet Impala and got a compact Ford Maverick !!!
Thats still a shame though!!!TCS
