Another rumour (reported on The QE2 forum) but this one seems to have a bit more substance to it, is that Nakheel are sending QE2 to Cape Town to become part of a development of theirs there.

As I said in the other thread on this subject - these reports are all well and good BUT QE2 won't fit in Q&A, she has always moored in the commercial port next door which is not exactly a salubrious location for a hotel.

Full story in today's (7-13-09) Wall Street Journal Page B4. There is even a photo of the QE2 in the WSJ! Pleasant surprise to see amongst all the dismal financial news.

I must have had 20 e mails about this to day and it is interesting to see it is reported so widely, they all seem to be saying that she will be part of the V&A Waterfront, but as pointed out there is no berth and no berth can be made in this location.

There is even a report somewhere that she is to be a low cost travel lodge - V&A already has numerous 5 star plus hotels so it would round out the offer in that location - except of course she can't go there.
