There is a small leak and they are busy to repair this. Nothing really serious. Look at a previous topic about here call at New York. Scroll to the last 3 post.

The departure of Reykjavik was the 19th after a delay of a day.
It is because a sub-engine was repaired.

She still arrived in New York on time on the 25th June 2009 so it looks as if some of her reserve speed was used to make up for her being delayed.

I read on another site that she is being detained at NYC for several safety violations. The post also stated that her passengers are being moved to hotels and she is to enter a New Jersey drydock for hull repairs.

Is any of this true?

Assuming she goes into drydock Sunday and all goes well, are we looking at a day or three in a delay of her itinerary? I had just emailed the Peaceboat folks via their website Thursday and was going to try and catch her going thru the Panama Canal on July 7th.

I wonder how this will affect the rest of her port visits? I know she is in the last 6 weeks of her World Cruise. It would be a shame to have to cancel any port stops.

Apparently she is currently being moved w/tugs-possibly to a shipyard for drydocking.

PeaceBoat can't seem to catch a break. Ever since they ended their agreement with Kyma Ship Management for the charter of TOPAZ, they have been hit a run of bad luck.

If I were them, I would go back to Kyma and charter the Mona Lisa.

I thought I saw her on the USS Intrepid webcam, grabbed a snapshot, and went back and she was gone. Thought is was a glitch...

According to her AIS signal, "Oceanic" continues to be in dry-dock at Bayonne.
