Her current "Baltic Reverie" 13-night cruise does not even feature Bremerhaven as a port of call. Her itinerary should have been:

Dover - 19 May
Kiel Canal - 20 May
At Sea - 21 May
Stockholm - 22 May
Helsinki - 23 May
St Petersburg - 24/25 May
Tallinn - 26 May
At Sea - 27 May
Warnemunde - 28 May
Copenhagen - 29 May
Oslo - 30 May
At Sea - 31 May
Dover - 1 June

Lloyds is not reporting any problems, so her extended stay in Bremerhaven is a mystery!

Her call at Stockholm has now been canceled as well as her call at Helsinki...

It sounds as if she might have some more mechanical problems.

I think it was last year, or maybe the year before, when she had some problems around Singapore.

The Captains bog has not been updated on their website for some time.

The Captain who made the last blog entry is not in the list of regular Saga cruise ship Captains on their website.

Hope he is not from Alang !

She's just about to enter the Kiel Canal. Should be able to see her shortly on the cam.

Following her on the AIS maps from her course line it looked as if she might have brushed against a cargo ship while overtaking it in the Kiel Canal !

I have put a copy of the AIS map with the incident on the cruisingtalk website as photos are far easier to post on there than on here.

Posting pictures on CT cant be that hard (my 12 year old nephew can do it) and is probably easier and less time consuming than trying to navigate thru your website to find a single picture. Maybe if you posted a direct link to the picture on your site it might be better? I gave up trying to find it.

The AIS maps are shown under Cruise Lines, Saga Cruises and Saga Rose, as it is about that ship !

Should not be difficult to find !

Perhaps your 12 year old nephew had computers at school.

WE DID NOT IN 1947 AS WORLD WAR 2 HAD JUST ENDED !

Do I have to sign up and become a member of your website before I can view the pictures? I got to that point and couldnt get any further.

And age is no excuse. A lot of time has passed since 1947, and in the last decade plenty of senior citizens have become computer literate enough to post pictures.

Same as here, you sign up.

I will treat the other remark with the contempt it deserves as I do post pictures on our website !

It looks like she is on her way to Skt. Petersburg now.

Hmm, I tried to paste the map like Jepp did at the start of the thread, but I did not have much luck with this.

Saga Rose had steering problems in the Straits of Dover on the evening of the 19th May 2009 due to the steering pumps not operating correctly when she was moving at speed.

As a result of needing to get into port as soon as possible she was able to get a berth with repair facilities at Bremerhaven and cancelled both the River Elbe and Keil Canal pilots which she had booked.

Both pumps had to be stripped, repaired and rebuilt which took two days and three nights !

Repairs were passed by a surveyor before she could resume her cruise.
