Today after work I went to take some pictures of ss Rotterdam while they were preparing things to move her later today.

I am actually saddened by the tenders. I was always under the impression that the original 1960s tenders were being used. These are the tenders that were added in the 90s. To me, they are so not a part of the Rotterdam history, but those black hulled beauties from the 60s are.

Are these really the tenders that will be nested on the ship. If so, I am sad.

The tenders will not be nested on the ship. They will be used to transport VIP's.

Two of the opriginal lifeboats are still somewhere in Seattle, but it seems to be rather expensive to transport them to Rotterdam.

The original 1959 tenders no longer excist.

It is interesting to see hose pipes hanging out of some of the port holes on the Rotterdam.

Has there been some flooding on board and are they are pumping water out of the ship !

Was there yesterday to. It was so cold I took some pictures, shot some video and jumping in the warm car of Roger (he wisely not get out of his car)

The girl of security almost freaked out when I was walking to wards the open fence. Only wanted to take some pictures. Even not walking through that fence. She jumped up run out here cabin and yelled stay there. As I said to here that I only wanted to make some pictures, she said it was forbidden to take pictures. I only said poor girl. Took my picture, and walked away. Strange she never closed that fence??????

I know understand the reason for the connection, no more need for lines, the ship is held away from the dock, so no chaffing on the hull and although i am sure its not a reason it just looks cool to have the ship alongside with no mooring lines.
