Well i wanted to see the QE2 during her last call in Cherbourg. According to the port authority she's scheduled for October 1st from 8AM to 6PM.
One problem: this call is not mentioned by Cunard...
Maybe one of the members here will be among the lucky guests of this cruise and knows the answer of this crucial question : Cherbourg yes or not ?

The very odd thing in fact is that the Cherbourg call is not listed....on the french website

It was a recent change to her Farewell to the Britsh Isles cruise. The dropped a port in Ireland (Can't remember at this moment which one it was) and inserted Cherbourg...guess that part of France belongs to the the UK now...;-)

The very first time I saw QE2 (not boarding her) was in Cherbourg, late august 1988. I think she was on a transatlantic. I remember envying the people going to and from the ship. You could really go close to the ship on the quay then. It was the only thing worthwhile in grey Cherborugh that day...

Cherbourg is very lucky this year : QM2 was given a huge cheer as she sailed earlier this year.
QE2 will be given a proper Gallic Farewell!
One can travel fast to Cherbourg by sailing Britanny Ferries Normandy Express, a catamaran.
Make sure you have plenty of brandy, the sailing can be rough!

Sadly the call has been cancelled due to the stormy weather....So no french farewell for the old Lady.

There were rumours this morning. My crew member told me when I went to see him. The Daily Programme still lists it under all the links Cunard has with the ports of call so will be a collectors item! Funnily enough on the Daily Programme the cruise is just called 'British Isles' not the 'Farewell British Isles' in the blurbs or 'British Isles Voyage' on the site. Anyway thanls for the info. He's working now so I've sent him a text.

What is the coast in front of QE2 webcam? it is now 1.20pm GMT and it looks like Cherbourg.
May be the captain is sailing close to the coast so the whistle can be heard?
One can enjoy such a coastal cruise by travelling to St Malo from Portsmouth..a treat I should have done to intercept QE2!
Just BF who confirmed seacat was cancelled as well as £10 offer to France.
Liverpool is temping but too expensive because of the Cultural events there.
Whos going to Greenock to see her?

Cobh, as I said above. She was due for 1pm although as she wasn't meant to be there today anyway I don't suppose it matters.

Cherbourg was the French Home Port of they Ships from the Cunard ( QE2- Queen mary - Queen Elisabeth - etc ... ) .

But the Adventure continue with QM2 ...
