Just received an email from Cunard offering some good last minute deals for QE2s January 2007 crossing to NYC. The fares range from $699.00 for an M7 Grade inside cabin, $897.00 for a C6 Caronia Grade cabin and $1,999.00 for a C4 Princess Grill Grade.

The Winter crossing is an institution with many repeaters who often complain the weather is not rough enough. It is a floating Fellini movie.

Since the QE2 has a lack of outdoor deck space she is fine during the winter weather which is about 40-55^f.

It is great to be in a deck chair wrapped in a blanket sipping bullion and a good book, watching the ocean go by.

The westbound crossing gives you an extra hour each day.

Would love to go again but it's not going to happen this year. There is another crossing in April I may consider. Too many cruises and not enough time! That is my problem. Damn work always gets in the way.

Fantastic photos Desirod. I really love the B/W medium. Were they 35mm film?

They are 35mm scanned at 16.7m colors then converted to grayscale. Original film is Ilford B/W with a C41 process.

Kodak has discontinued their Black and white paper and chemicals. Agfa ia out of the film business and Ilford is in trouble financially.

Digital still does not have the rich colors and deep blacks of silver nitrate and modern color film
