Hanseatic was an wonderfull liner. They dith a great job in rebuildin the Empress of Japan/Scotland in the Hanseatic. Here interior looks wonderfull. Sadly here time was cut short by that relativ small fire. The smoocke was to much and it was not possible to overcome the smell.
Always think (and correct me) German Atlantic Line was better thene older North German Lloyd.

First Class on HANSEATIC was limited to a small number of passenger cabins, along with their bar/lounge and restaurant, all located up on Boat Deck:
Tourist Class, typical of many ships during the 1950s, had the run of the majority of the ship. Here are some of their cabins:

According to the brochures and deck plans, 90% of Tourist Class cabins had private facilities. There was capacity for 1167 people in Tourist.
First Class could accommodate 85 people in 40 cabins, all of which had private facilities.

I will try to scan some plans and create another gallery album--the problem with most ships of this era is that the deck plans are large, fragile, tablecloth-sized tissue plans, which are difficult to scan without damaging them. Even in the brochures, the plans are large and elaborate, but I will see....

After comparing pics of Empress of Scotlands public room and some of the same rooms onboard Hanseatic, I noticed that there really was little changed in most of the original public rooms. The former first class spaces were reassigned to tourist class but what really changed the overall look was the addition of new late 1950s style furniture, carpets and in the case of the far forward cocktail lounge some minor 'toning down' of the original elegant Canadian Pacific decor. The paneling and nearly all the deco fixtures remained CP circa 1930. There are also deck plans on that Empress of Scotland site.
