Any news on Mona Lisa yet? What do you think her chances are? How long woll the owners wait for her to get a new charter or owner before they sel her for scrap?

I have no doubt she will find a charter, she is still in good condition and has diesel engines not steam so running costs are pretty good. the recent arrivals at the scrap yards have almost all been steam ships and with the current fuel prices there really was no other option for them.

Great pictures! I can see smoke from the funnel. I guess it means that the generators are running. Maybe the do some work on her while she is anchored?

Hi All

Its great to see some very nice pictures of Mona Lisa at anchor.

Its possible her generators are in operation to keep her airconditioning and lighting running.

I noticed however that one of her lifeboats appears to be missing on the starboard side.

Lets hope that her next operators or charterers paint that funnel a different colour.

It would be nice to see here back with her twin funnels.

P&O/Princess Cruises spoilt her appearence by trying to make her look like the other Princess ships with the removal of the forward funnel and re-designing her aft funnel.

Increasing her cabin accommodation did however make her profitable to operate.

Hi All

Mona Lisa would also be a good ship for Classic International Cruises to buy and add to their fleet.

Having cruised in Australia, when with P&O, she could be used for both their UK cruises and their cruises in Australia.

Loved the photos of her and I'd love to see her sail out of the states...I would love to get my camera on her interiors.

Hopefully another operator will take over soon and that bizarre livery painted over. She is still a lovely ship and could benefit with her forward funnel being re-installed.

i read on a swedish forum that she now is docked alongside a pier in Pireaus. Someone who can confirm this?

Hi Thundergod

The webcam picture for Pireaus harbour at 13.18hrs today shows her alongside a berth.

She still has her old name on the hull, ' Mona Lisa ' , and the dark red funnel with the badge on the side.

A friend of mine came home from acruise with Sky Wonder and he saw Mona Lisa leave the dock heading towards the sea at 8.10 in the morning 30 oct...

Hi Thundergod.

Mona Lisa was still alongside in Pireaus Harbour today, Wednesday 1st November.

She appears to be at the older of the passenger terminals.

ACcording to reports in a swedish forum, "landgangen" Mona Lisa is being prepared for a new charter. As a floating hotel in the middle east, unknown where and for how long time. Anyone else who have more information about this?

She appears to be taking on bunkers this morning. Perhaps her little excursions of late have been trials for the charterer? One does wonder why the funnel has not been repainted though; I doubt anyone else will want that
