I have taken some grabs of the beaching of BLUE LADY from the footage on FranceTV3. I know that such reproduction, with acknowledgement, is allowed for study and review purposes under copyright law.

Unfortunately, because I had to photograph them off my computer screen they are rather fuzzy. But they do show the scene, and the final shot shows that she is unnaturally high in the water because she has been beached... alas.

I don't think she is beached in the last pic. The amount of painted boot topping at the bow (through the rust) looks normal and she appears to still be on an even keel.

Although the pictures are grainy, the images are depressing to look at, with all that rusting scrap in th foreground

I think is is a valid question to ask if she really is permanently beached. But she does seem higher out of the water than usual. Here is another "beached" pic from Norwegian VG, a news media site.

On the other hand, reliable Indian media still seems to indicate its still not all over:

We haven't permitted breaking of ship: Supreme Court
New Delhi, Aug. 17 (PTI): The Supreme Court today allayed fears of environmental activists that toxic laden Norwegian Ship S S Norway, beached at Alang Coast in Gujarat, will be dismantled in contravention of its order saying it knows how to deal with the violators.

"We have not permitted breaking of the ship. If they break we know how to handle them," a Bench comprising Justice Arijit Pasayat and Justice S H Kapadia observed.

It, however, declined to give urgent hearing to the application filed by activist Gopal Krishna seeking a direction that the ship, popularly known as 'Blue Lady', carrying asbestos and other toxic materials, be asked to leave Indian territorial waters.

The Bench said it will only pass order after receiving the report of the Court-appointed expert committee.

When advocate Sanjay Parikh, appearing for the activist said that the court had only allowed the entry of ship in Indian water and the beaching was in violation of that order, the Bench said "we will look into the matter only when the report of the committee will come".

The apex court had permitted the ship to enter Indian territorial water, off Alang Coast in Gujarat, as the interim report of its high-level Committee of Technical Experts on Ship Wrecking had recommended its safe anchorage in view of the monsoon.

The Bench had said its order will not give equity to owners of ship which is merely permitted to anchorage.

The order to this effect was passed after the court had perused the May 20 report of the Committee which deliberated on the issue of anchorage, beaching and dismantling of S S Norway.

I think the time has come to accept the inevitable.

It does not matter how genuine the various ‘save the France’ campaigns were, they all amounted to false hope.

Yes, Untill now, she is... All the other big liners were destroyed by fire or are still in use as tourist center. The bigger cruiseships will be around for a lot more years.
