It has been confirmed on MM site that Norway was beached this morning and is 500m from shore.

A sad day for us maritime followers.
Farewell dear Norway.

Wow I have a really sick feeling in my gut today. Glad I had the chance to sail the great Norway RIP beautiful.

I disagree that it is not a waste as she will be almost totally recycled. The ship is on the cutters beach yet they are still trying to put a spin on how she will be dragged off the beach and restored as the France. ENOUGH!

it is over

personally I got hooked on passenger ships, after seeing her glamourously lit up in a dark night on the cover of the Airfix Modelling Kit, when i was 7 or 8

recently the ship for me has too much been a "could have been" in several instances, so that there is an extra pang in my heart seeing her on that tropical beach, with still elegant lines (unlike some other beached passenger ships)

the saddest words, "it could have been"

Seeing the diverse tributes, with those optimistic pictures of her, it is melancholy to see the end of the future
