This past Saturday I went to the 1250 scale ship model show in New York at Fort Schuyler. The Maritime Industry Museum is at Fort Schuyler at Throgs Neck NY, just out-side NYC on the campus SUNY Maritime. They have a great collection of Liner models, some of which are shown here.

Absolutely incredible!! Wonderful models.

What is the ship that is third down? Looks familiar, but I cant quite name it.

I think it is the Vulcania. Though it could have been her sister the Saturnia. I always forget which one is which, though they have different funnels.

It is Saturnia. Vulcania had a more traditional upright stack.

After a second look it may be Vulcania. The stack is not accurate though and neither is the placement of the paint on the upper decks. She had three decks below the boat deck in white-not four. The models are incredible. I liked seeing a model of Morro Castle as I have never seen one.

I think the larger models are the original builders models and they might represent what the ship was designed originally to look like, rather than how they finally appeared. I agree that they are awesome, and when combined with the models at the South Street Seaport in Manhattan, make an incredible 1-2 punch...

The funnel on SATURNIA 'sloped' (remember the 's' to keep them apart.)

They're just beautiful Thad, I had seen some beautiful models on the QUEEN MARY last month. I'm almos finished with checking on all of my photos. 'll download them sometime tomorrow. Had to work on the lighting in some photos. My late husband's relatives used to go back and forth on the SATUNIA and VULCANIA. Wish we had these types of ships around now. These were far more classy.

It appears to be the Mitsui O.S.K. liner ARGENTINA MARU of 1939 (or her sister BRAZIL MARU.)
