Does anyone know anything about this ship? "Marina Svetaeva" She is apparently a Russian or Polish research vessel that is doing expeditions out of Australia. Never heard of her.
Thanks
Also stating, 06-12-2004 that the classification is Suspended "Pending Disposition of casualty", whatever that may mean. No further update and the Russian Maritime Register as "MARINA TSVETAEVA", just says classification suspended.
Maybe wrong ship? but she is classified [when not suspended] for "Ice strengthening notation of the ship (independent navigation in the Arctic in summer and autumn in light ice conditions and in the non-arctic freezing seas all the year round) "

and:-"Ferry Marina Tsvyetayeva (4575 gt, built 1989) that dropped anchor off Hokkaido Island because of problems with the main engine has been rescued by ferry Igor Farkhutdinov which is now towing the vessel to Kholmsk. The vessels are expected to reach the port by this evening. Marina Tsvyetayevawas on its way from Kholmsk to Otaru when something went wrong with its main engine. The malfunction forced the ship to stop. The ship has 44 crewmen and 91 passengers onboard, a duty captain of the Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk maritime rescue centre said" from here.
Ferry? Passenger Ship, can't find a picture anywhere. Still out of service? FESCO seem to be involved, but I can't see her on their site.
I think you nailed her. The dimensions and year of build are right on. Strange this ships seems to have appeared from nowhere.
