I had a quick look inside a cabin as well and indeed it did not look much had been updated from the 70’s onwards. For a cruise ship unacceptable but for the Doulos it doesn’t matter so much. Probably the cabins are the only unchanged parts from the Costa days, the public rooms have been stripped and utilized all for the book selling mission.
Did you visit the spare book storage inside the hull, I loved the way you could see both curved hull sides.
Never the less I loved the ship and the people working on her cared a lot about her as well.
