Actually, she was turned twice for the first time at the head of the Western Docks and the second time at the lower turning basins.she berthed with her bow up-river(toward City and Mayflower park) as photo below (from sslewis photo gallery).

Reminds me of SEA PRINCESS/VICTORIA/MONA LISA, which also had a gorgeous front half and a terrible aft end - but then that was a badly done refit, this is the original design! (Admittedly QM2 is nowhere near as bad...)
