QE2 Fails Florida Health InspectionJanuary 15: Cunard's QUEEN ELIZABETH 2 (1969) failed a US federal health inspection after regulators found cockroaches in a galley, mold residue on ice makers and blocked drains in the nursery on January 3. Inspectors gave the QE2 a grade of 85 on a scale from 1 to 100. Grades below 86 are unsatisfactory. The inspection occurred at Port Everglades, Florida on the first leg of her four-month world cruise. The ship will continue sailing and according to Cunard sources all the problems have been corrected but re-inspection may be requested to clear the ship's name. Gone down to Port Wyndham status

Well Baker, the food was not particularly good in ‘Mauritania’ class!
Your report might explain why?
Sid was playing the part of a fly in the kitchen. First the typical maniacal buzzings and imitations of a fly, this was one of his greatest skills.
The lady of the house approaches with a flyswatter [don't ask me how this skit started, but this is the part I remember]
Sid observes: "I'll just go down here and mingle with the rasins and perhaps she won't notice."
More hysterical pantomine and then he observes to the "rasin" on his right.
"Hey you're not a rasin!"He looks to his left,"Hey you're not a rasin either!"
I wish I had a finish to this, or better yet a tape. But I am hypothesing that the "currants" and cockroaches in question may have seen this skit.
And so it went...as you know, the other old showbiz line is "you had to be there!" But the fat that this sketch, along with the Bavarian Town Clock pantomine is one I remember to this day.
