She was built for Bordeaux - Buenos Aires service.On 01-04-1933 she caught fire when on a voyage from Bordeaux to Le Havre where she was supposed to be dry-docked.19 crewmembers lost their lives (there were no passengers aboard).Two days later the wreck was towed to Cherbourg, where it stayed until 1936.The fire was declared to be deliberately started, but no one was sentenced of it.The wreck was scrapped in Port Glasgow, Scotland, by Smith and Houston Ltd. in 1936.

Ugh... Pasteur looks terrible with that funnel, MUCH too big... L'Atlantique's are too small!
