A shame! It seems that a large proportion of ships sink on their way to the breakers.

Her original name was Pasteur and she was built for the French for the South America service. As Regina Magna she sailed for Chandris mainly as a cruise ship.

Yes, asoowal, the Ships sink not only on their last Way.

For example has EPIROTIKI End of the 1980's
a fleet of 12 ships, including small Day-Cruisers as the "Hermes".

All of them are old, and the Company has some Problems, later they merge with SUN LINES to the Company of our days: ROYAL OLYMPIC.

They loose:

Christmas 1988: JUPITER, sinking out of Piraeus, when had Collision with an Italian freight-Liner.

ATLAS, burning in Venice.

PEGASOS, burning in Venice

OCEANOS, sinking at the Coast of South Africa.

The Greek Officers (including the Captain) flee from the Ship with Life-Boats and let
the Passengers on Board alone...

...one heroic female Cruise Directress organizes Rescue!

PALLAS ATHENA burning in Piraeus.

I knew from an Philippine Cruise Director, that thay have always Problems with the Propulsion System/Engines on that former French Liner.

I say to him: take some Dollars and repair it!

he said to me: there was never taken an Dollar for Repair.

In March 1994 she burned, i met him in Summer 1994 on the WORLD RENAISSANCE, round Europe cruising, when we had this Discussion. I knew him from an other Boat before this Cruise.

The World Renaissance was an Epirotiki Ship.

Oh wonder!!

Since the Company has merged and the fleet was smaller, they lost no Ships.

Now they have the first new-built from Germany (Olympic Voyager).
