Perhaps it was Lubeck Line REGINA MARIS, now named ALEXANDER and owned by the Latsis family?
I don't recall the exact name of the company but I think she was involved in a scandal in Canadian waters when the cruise company was accused of gambling onboard in Canadian waters. It could have been her.

The came in 1981 the BERLIN, the company has this ship with an interruption in the Far East as PRINCESS MAHSURI until today.
