Which is the best cruise liner of our days?I think that the Odysseus of Royal Olympic is a great lovely ship(this ship has operated for many years from Italy with the best cruises to the Black sea).I like also the great Oceanic even in the red livery of the Big Red Boat 1.The Norway is superb(I have heard that Star cruise is planning to convert it into a casino ship in Hong Kong).

Best service has CELEBRITY CRUISES.
For prices, you can pay.
If you want to pay extremely high prices,
look to Seabourn Cruise Line, Cunards Sea Goddess.
Cunard, Princess Cruises, Deilmann, Hapag-Lloyd are very good, too.

The Odysseus is an old vessel of 38 years, built in Spain as Princesa Isabel and Royal Olympic Cruises is today known as a company of bad service and food.

Look in Berlitz, complete Guide to Cruising and Cruise ships.

They are all down-rated.

My own experience in 1994 on the "World Renaissance" of Epirotiki Lines, now is together with Sun Lines fusionated into Royal Olympic Cruises was medium.

But the World Renaissance has a sinking standard of quality in the last years.

The best cruiseship today is without doubt Hapag Lloyd´s new EUROPA
But you can find many other ships which will be the best for everyone since everybody has a different taste and like other things more.

As Patrick says, we all have different tastes. And just as well.

My vote goes to Cunard's Caronia. Of course, if they had kept Sagafjord...

Hmmm, I realy don't think you can grup together all the ships of the world and say which is the best. They reeally have to be categorised - what exactly is "the best" anyway? Categories like relaxed, expensive, traditional, budget, luxury, amenities, external beauty, cabins, food, service etc.

Paddy.

The "best," of course, is a matter of opinion. I think that the Grand Princess is hard to beat. The dining rooms were beautiful and the service was great. The stateroom could have been a little bigger and we had one of the top category rooms.
