Here is what John Malcolm Brinnin has to say about Cruise Director Malcolm’s favourite thread.

“Somewhere in the 1920s, there emerged a myth of shipboard dalliance in which the lifeboat came to be the place of tryst. Hollywood and the popular press promoted the notion, and the landlocked public bought it. To new seafarers with an eye to erotic privacy beyond the purview of cabinmates or ubiquitous stewards, the myth must have been the cause of many a wincing disappointment. Three undoubtedly were impromptu embraces in the tarpaulined confines of lifeboats, but as passion pits they were not to be recommended. Except for those to whom oil, grease, hawsers and mildew were aphrodisiac, the lifeboat was the last resort.”

Kind of gives a whole new meaning to the command “Man the Lifeboats!” Doesn’t it?

Last cruise, I had been approached by 4 different crew members of both sexes.

Remember, they are stuck on a ship for months at a time

One of them fit the bill, came down to my cabin after shift was over, for the last 3 nights. It made the trip

If you do a crew member, KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT!, they are fired if caught with passenger. Don't Monica, you never know where Linda Tripp is.

Reminds me of the man that ask the woman if she would have sex with him for a million dollars. She thought about it and said "yes". The man then said "how about for a hundred bucks" The woman replied "what do you think i am" The man said "I know what you are, now we are negotiating price"

Hope you didn't bring home any microscopic souvenirs

Hi Desirod6,

Wow,

You must be a " HOT " item, I must not
be as attractive as you, because no crew
member has ever made a pass at me !
( let alone both sexes )

Question : If it was that easy for you,
what about all of the others ?
Would you not be concerned that you just
might catch a little something ???

If those crewmembers, who made themselves
so easily available to you, had been making
a practice of " Doing " other passengers,
would you not be concerned ?

Whoa, that would be a LOT scarry !
It's not like you have time for a blood
test.........

It might seem a little "romantic" at the
time, but, to risk your health ? not me !
Remember, these crewmembers have been around
the world (in some cases) and God only knows
what they have gotten into......

Always cautious,

John B.
