On 18th November 2001, the SS Norway will be in dry-dock for 35 days!

My cruise 'spies' tell me that this is when her 'Asian' interior refit will take place. As yet I have no details of what changes will be made to her public rooms and decore, but I'm sure that NCL do!

Comments or speculation please?

Is there any idea as to where she will be dry docked? What sort of modifications will Star be making? Is it simply gonna be the addition of ultra-high-tech stuff and Karaoke bars and is she still gonna be cruising or will she be just a floating casino or something? I hope they have a good business plan!!!

Paddy, nothing has been revealed as yet?

I would also like to know her itiniary between arriving at Southampton on September 18th 2001 and the 18th November?

Paddy, I trust that you will go and see her at Dun Laoghaire, if you are not booked aboard?

She WILL be cruising.The reason they are sending the Norway to Star Cruises is so loyal Norway fans will cruise on Star Cruises rather thant NCL. I can't imagine what cheesy name they will give her. (Like Star Cancer or something.)

I really think I am gonna make the effort to get down there and see it. And I have decided I am going to write a lot of letters to all the cruise lines coming to Belfast next summer to see if I can get onboard, so i might as well do the same for the Norway. What can they do? Say no?

Paddy, in 1998 NCL gave me a couple of boarding passes to visit the Norway at Southampton! Which I did. You have nothing to lose, apart from a few stamps!

It sounds as if she could be returning to the King Gerge V Drydock at Southampton. It is one of the few in Europe that are long enough for the NORWAY'S size.

Dambrosi, it's unlikely - stuff like that is normally auctioned. However, there is lots of SS France and SS Norway stuff such as menu's available from collectors shops.

I purchased an original colour 'exploded drawing'of the SS France last week. It had a very nice France Line cover. It was probabaly produced when she was launched?
