I will give more detail. In the pool area (where some have drowned)a security gaurd and tour guide said they both heard a child laughingwhen checking near the pool area and saw no one. Then they heard a splah and the pool water was also moving. Shortly after they heard laughing again and saw chid size foot prints leaving the pool and entering the locker room. The bow area is noisy and filled with the sounds of talking. he also recorded noises that sounded like she just had crash. Shaft alley is haunted by the ghost of a dead crew member. The tour guide saw him when she was using the stairs when she moved over to let him pass he was gone.

Premier, Don't be suckered into believing these stories. Few people have spent as much time as I have aboard the Queen Mary in Long Beach, and I can tell you first-hand that the Queen Mary is NOT haunted. I have been to all the places that people say have a strong presence of paranormal activity and I have not seen, heard, or felt anything. The Queen Mary is however full of strange noises way down in the bowels of the ship, but this is from plumbing draining throughout the ship through pipes. The ship is old, and there are some areas that are rusted out which can cause some creaking sounds, but I'm absolutely positive that Queen Mary is NOT haunted. Believe me I have heard all the stories, but I have yet to actually talk with an actual person who is an eye-witness. The stories are always hearsay. Example: "I heard from a friend of mine who knew a security guard, who was friends with a cleaning person who says that he saw a ghost in the forward cargo hold". I have been aboard the Queen Mary even in the middle of the night in the pool area for several hours hanging out with friends on many occassions and have never heard, seen, or felt anything. I was all the way up towards the bow where the stem is, which is where rumor said that there is a constant mysterious sound like crashing and twisting metal and men screaming, from the Curacoa accident during the war, but I have not ever heard anything. I visited the woodshop up in the bow area, where people said they saw a light flicker on and off (the bulb was burnt out) and I never saw anything. I've been down shaft alley many many times, and I have never seen, heard, felt anything. And I am very sensative to "spiritual" activity. The stories are just that STORIES. Sorry to burst your bubble.

They said that the noises were at the lower bow and only occured during morning hours. These ghosts seem to like to annoy security gaurds. They had Unsolved mysteries producers record the noise and tried remake the noise an could Not recreate the noise. The ships lover bow was not very rusty with very little rust for a ship her age. You can't say she's notunted and I still belive the occurances are real.

You're only going to find rust where it's damp. The bow at the stem of the Queen Mary is pretty dry, so you won't find rust. I happen to know that there is a cable hooked onto the bow of the Queen Mary as a mooring. Because the Queen Mary is indeed still floating, she still rises with the tides which usually occur in the mornings. From inside the ship at the bow this steel cable hooked through the bow will make strange sounds.

I'm with Malcolm....there are NO ghosts.
When people die they either go to heaven or hell, there's no in-between, and there's no coming back to spook people who are living. I do believe however, that there are demonic representatives from hell which may seem like a paranormal event or a "ghost", that will occassionally spook people into thinking they are "ghosts". These demonic representatives are NOT people who died years ago returning to the scene, rather they are evil spiritual beings which have a mission....to distract people away from God, and try to fool people into believing there are "ghosts".

Hey, I'm an open book and I like to be straight forward....and to all those who want to know the truth about the ghosts of the Queen Mary.....there you have it in black and white. (not that I know everything mind you, but this is one thing I do know)

Having spent so much time on the Queen Mary and also being very sensative to spiritual activity...I can tell you that I have not felt, seen, or heard anything "ghostly".

If you look hard enough there are going to be unexplained noises. It's a ship that is still floating and moving with the tides. With this in mind there are going to be strange noises.

It is also interesting to note that all of these stories started since the QM arrived at Long Beach - and they are still being publicised, in no small part due to the current managements recently introduced Ghosts tour. It is true that a crewman was killed by a watertight door in the '60's but no one ever seemed to see any ghosts when she was in service. I too have been right through the Queens lower decks, boiler rooms and bow and never seen anything.
