Hello everyone,

Well, my family and I are booked on the
maiden voyage of the QM-2. It took a few
e-mails but it seemed easy enough. We requested a suite (might as well do it up right)and agreed to accept any itinerary.

We are both self employed so we can be
flexible which helps a lot. One thing,
there is a waiting list and if anyone who
is interested should respond now. It's
hard to believe that the inaugural sailing
is selling so fast. When I told my little
girl I thought she was going to fall over!
She was so happy she became hysterical!

We are excited about this and can hardly
wait 4 years, but one thing for sure, it
will be worth it ! I will keep everyone
posted as things progress.

Regards,
kbozman

Hi Malcolm,

The agent at Cunard told me that the QM-2
is selling fast (he also refered to the new
ship as the QM-2) The good news is that the
expected completion date is 2002 or, there
about. You are required to give a minimum
of $500 deposit to secure a res. Cunard will
give you a 7 digit Res # which will give
you the opportunity to choose your cabin
before standard booking begins. He said the
response has been exc. As far as the cost,
he said that it would be reasonable
(relatively I'll bet) He also mentioned
that the itinerary could vary at this point,
but be interesting. I could not get him to
divulge anymore info to me. One thing for
sure though, we will not miss this voyage !
I'll let you know as I recieve more info.

Best Regards,
kbozman.

Hey Malcolm, By the way, this trip really
sounds like you !! Hope to see you on this
voyage. Be patriotic and sail Cunard (even
though Carnival owns it). It might the trip
of a life time !

Wow! And congratulations to the whole Bozman family!! Of course, your "little" girl won't be as little when she goes, but I know that won't affect her excitement or appreciation for the wonderful experience you'll all have. (And I thought waiting more than a year for a cruise was tough! Even though you'll probably cruise somewhere else, this one will be the most anticipated I'll bet!!)

Keep us posted as things develop and you get new info.

Hi Kruzinkat !

It's good to hear from you ! Hows Renegade/4
doing ? I can still see you guys dancing
on the Norway last summer. You make a great
dancing couple. We all hope that you have a
great voyage on the Mercury. Katie is really excited about the QM-2 and we are all looking forward to her maiden voyage. I am
a bit of a optimist so I hope everything
goes smoothly with no glitches. I guess you could say that we all are cautiously optimistic. Papillon and myself may sail
next weekend on the Rembrandt from Balto.
They are offering a two day bay cruise
for $265 P/P in a deluxe suite on the
lower promenade deck. I think it would be a
great way to get to know this wonderful ship.

Today Papillon and I went down to Balto to
see the Rembrandt sail to Nassau, and we
took many pictures of her. I think the
stevadores thought that I was just another
longshoreman and left me to wander around
the ship to take some neat shots. I will
probably send dups to Joe and see if he will
post them.

Papillon is excited about going and I hope
we can make this short trip.

Thanks for your reply and hope to talk soon

Best Regards,
kbozman

How wonderful! Good for you! Would that I'm ever in a position to do that myself. The only problem I'll have is my wife, who has already flatly refused to do a transatlantic. She thinks it would be too boring. I don't know about that.

Hi BigUfan!!

You should tell your wife that a crossing is all but BORING! I think it all depends on
what ship you go on kbozman(my dad),me and my mom went on a crossing last aug. on the Norway and it was very fun! Well it also was sort of a senior citizens cruise but it was still fun for me! But my parents thought it was a little boring casue my mom doesn't like to dance and my dad loves to dance SOMETIMES!

Hi BigUfan,

When we crossed on the Norway last summer,
my wife, who hardly has a sea leg in her body
decided that 7 or 8 days would be about right. After all, 14 days was a bit much, even for her (chuckle) You can assure your
wife that a T/A crossing would probably be
anything but boring. The staff seem to go
out of their way to plan daily activities
that will keep everyone ammused. My wife
had a good time until we left New York for
Miami at which time she said that she had
enough. Good luck in talking your wife into
going along. We sure hope that you get a oppurtunity to sail on the QM-2

P.S. Take her shopping, that works sometimes.
Regards,
kbozman

Ericruises,

Cunard did not give me a price, but if
it's reasonable, we will pay it.

Hello! I'm new to this board - didn't even know it existed. As regards the Queen Mary 2, from the small icon of her on the www.cunardline.com site, it's so nice to see that she will be a traditional-looking ship, the way ships are suppose to look. Although I love cruising, I simply can't stand those Sheraton-in-a-shoebox appearing things prowling the waters. And I certainly intend to try and book for the maiden voyage as well! Heck, we've got three years to pay it off.

My wife and I are also booked on the maiden voyage across the Atlantic on the QM2. Cunard is NOT accepting deposits though. I'm curious, Kbozman, did you put down a deposit? I have the reservation number and am waitlisted, but Cunard said they were not accepting deposits.

Hello K & Papillon! Renegade is doing fine - just anxious that we won't be able to dance as well on Mercury as we did on Norway! But I think we'd have to go on one of the Queens to come close, and he's turned off by the classes - even hates that there are classes on jets! So we'll have to make do on the smaller dance floors with less catering to ballroom dancers, I guess. We'll be looking forward to reading all about the news that comes down to you and Barryboat about QM2!
