Well, my family and I are booked on the maiden voyage of the QM-2. It took a fewe-mails but it seemed easy enough. We requested a suite (might as well do it up right)and agreed to accept any itinerary.
We are both self employed so we can beflexible which helps a lot. One thing, there is a waiting list and if anyone whois interested should respond now. It'shard to believe that the inaugural sailingis selling so fast. When I told my littlegirl I thought she was going to fall over! She was so happy she became hysterical!
We are excited about this and can hardlywait 4 years, but one thing for sure, itwill be worth it ! I will keep everyoneposted as things progress.
Regards, kbozman
The agent at Cunard told me that the QM-2is selling fast (he also refered to the newship as the QM-2) The good news is that the expected completion date is 2002 or, thereabout. You are required to give a minimumof $500 deposit to secure a res. Cunard willgive you a 7 digit Res # which will give you the opportunity to choose your cabinbefore standard booking begins. He said theresponse has been exc. As far as the cost,he said that it would be reasonable (relatively I'll bet) He also mentionedthat the itinerary could vary at this point, but be interesting. I could not get him todivulge anymore info to me. One thing forsure though, we will not miss this voyage !I'll let you know as I recieve more info.
Best Regards,kbozman.
kbozman.
Keep us posted as things develop and you get new info.
KruzinKat9 weeks 'til we fly to San Diego and Mercury
It's good to hear from you ! Hows Renegade/4doing ? I can still see you guys dancingon the Norway last summer. You make a greatdancing couple. We all hope that you have agreat voyage on the Mercury. Katie is really excited about the QM-2 and we are all looking forward to her maiden voyage. I ama bit of a optimist so I hope everythinggoes smoothly with no glitches. I guess you could say that we all are cautiously optimistic. Papillon and myself may sailnext weekend on the Rembrandt from Balto. They are offering a two day bay cruisefor $265 P/P in a deluxe suite on thelower promenade deck. I think it would be agreat way to get to know this wonderful ship.
Today Papillon and I went down to Balto tosee the Rembrandt sail to Nassau, and wetook many pictures of her. I think thestevadores thought that I was just anotherlongshoreman and left me to wander aroundthe ship to take some neat shots. I willprobably send dups to Joe and see if he willpost them.
Papillon is excited about going and I hopewe can make this short trip.
Thanks for your reply and hope to talk soon
Best Regards,kbozman
You should tell your wife that a crossing is all but BORING! I think it all depends on what ship you go on kbozman(my dad),me and my mom went on a crossing last aug. on the Norway and it was very fun! Well it also was sort of a senior citizens cruise but it was still fun for me! But my parents thought it was a little boring casue my mom doesn't like to dance and my dad loves to dance SOMETIMES!
When we crossed on the Norway last summer,my wife, who hardly has a sea leg in her bodydecided that 7 or 8 days would be about right. After all, 14 days was a bit much, even for her (chuckle) You can assure yourwife that a T/A crossing would probably beanything but boring. The staff seem to goout of their way to plan daily activitiesthat will keep everyone ammused. My wifehad a good time until we left New York forMiami at which time she said that she hadenough. Good luck in talking your wife intogoing along. We sure hope that you get a oppurtunity to sail on the QM-2
P.S. Take her shopping, that works sometimes.Regards, kbozman
Cunard did not give me a price, but ifit's reasonable, we will pay it.
