Maiden "revenue" voyage on May 01, according to the latest "Lookout" and "Aurora issue #7". She will perhaps make a few special sailings for training or testing prior to that time.

Aurora did arrive in Southampton yesterday, she was accompanied by the Tall Ships and it was a sight to behold.

The arrival was televised on Sky News and BBC News. She is in port for two weeks, but will be away on a 3 day sailing during that time whereby Staff of P&O are on board.
They seemingly are allowed a short cruise to put all the systems through their paces, this was done with Oriana as well - I think it would be nice to work for P&O.....

Aurora will be named on April 27th by Princess Anne (The Princess Royal). She will attend a Gala Dinner on board Aurora the previous evening after which she and other guests will take an overnight cruise prior to the naming ceremony the following day.

Her maiden voyage will be on May 1st, to the Western Mediterranean. Captain Steve Burgoine said that she performed very well in her sea trials off the coast of Norway, in which there were some extreme sea conditions, he said that her passengers could take comfort from the fact that she handled extremely well.

From the footage I saw, she looks a very handsome ship indeed.

"The Princess Royal has christened P&O's new £200m superliner at the port of Southampton. In an elaborate opening ceremony, the Princess released a magnum of champagne against the bow of the 76,000-tonne Aurora.

The superliner has been built specifically for the UK market and includes 12 bars, a West End-style theatre, a concert hall and three swimming pools".
