I have not seen this thread here before.
Today I went to an estate sale where I
came across a souvenir book for Princess
Cruises M/V Italia. The cruise went from
Ft. Lauderdale to Los Angeles March 2,
1970 to March 18. Menus, maps of ports,
each days "Princess Patter". The ship was
beautiful, only 450 passengers. I always
run into the usual glasses but nothing
quite this interesting.

You should see my "collectibles". I have quite a bit. I have a postcard
date 2 months after the R.M.S. TITANIC sinking. I paid $50.00 for
it, it's still in great shape.
I have postcard booklets from the
MARDI GRAS, CARNIVALE, MARCONI, and
the FANTASY. Glasses galore, 3 types. The hurricane kind, tankards
and shot glasses. Luggage tags, doilies, daily programs, menus. Postcards by the ton. I have a friend leaving on the RYNDAM for a
14 day cruise tomorrow and I give her a small list of what I need for
my collection and the only thing I have her to get for me that is glass
is the shot glass from the ship.
The rest of it is all paper. We have
a Costa Cruise Line smokestack that
could be used for an ashtray, thankfully we don't smoke. My husband got that when Rick Sasso who
was a S.E. rep. for Costa in the late 70's came by his office and gave it to him. They're still very
good friends, Sasso is now the president of CELEBRITY CRUISE LINE.
He sent me some very nice things too.

Dambrosi,I don't think you'll be able to take all of that with you,but I'm sure you enjoy them now.We also do the shot glass thing from each ship and port.
I wish I knew Mr.Sasso.We use to get passes from the Captain Club to tour the new ships when they came into New York but with RCI running the company now I don't think that will be happening.Have a nice day.

I shelled out a number of bills (probably too many) recently for blueprints to the SS United States from an estate sale by way of eBay. Needless to say, I'll be sitting on those for quite a while.

In addition, I have a nearly-completed Titanic model, and an unassembled model of the United States which will likely not be assembled anytime soon, since I currently have no place to put it when it is finished. Aside from those, I have a Queen Mary candy tin dating back to the late '50's, a champagne glass from the Crown Princess, which they don't give out anymore, and a couple of Royal Caribbean key rings, one of which depicts the Nordic Prince.

Cunard,

I saw you had some Titanic books. Have you ever seen the book on the Titanic bear "Polar"? This teddy bear survived. There are a couple of pictures taken on the Titanic in this book.

I have a ‘Sailor Boy, dressed in Navy Blue (somewhat faded)’ Made In England by Norah Wellings’’ from the RMS Franconia – August ’52 – Quebec City to Greenock, Scotland.'
His sailor hat, once white, is somewhat squished. On the back of his head, a hand printed note - "Not A Good Trip".
I recall that many of the passengers were returning (recent) emigrants to Canada. They had discovered that the streets were not paved with gold for the taking. In those days you received only what you worked for. The North Atlantic was like a millpond all the way......boring.
Anyone interested in this little guy?

Richard, the coal came from an official Titanic web site, about a year ago. This below is one of many sites:
http://www.titanic-coal.com:/titanic-coal/page3.html

Does anyone collect Tri-ang die cast ship models?
